I've read several good threads and replies on this issue...mine is this:
 Who,on 1 January 2008,in the middle of the season,is going to go and check that all balls being used in that night's league play are in compliance with the rules if they pass as proposed? Here,there are league secretaries who have let people bowl ALL YEAR and not pay a dime because they felt sorry for this person and took the money out of the prize fund to pay for the kid and lo and behold we got a whole 10 bucks a man for coming in third in the league for the year........
 Or the league secretary/officers who refused to forfeit a set because they knew where the team was that didn't show up to bowl in a position night? And yes there was a rule saying that you have to give notice if you can't be there to bowl..........
 Or the officer who allows a bowler to bowl with an illegal ball----track sanded only-------and won't throw out his scores even when shown in the Rule Book that this is illegal.............
 Or the State officer who ignores the Rule Book for a friend.............
 What I'm getting at is this...................
 We also need officers that will enforce WHATEVER rule changes do come down and have the balls to do it.
