Went bowling last night. So many house balls that were old black beautys. Is this black beauty a rare thing to find being used as an old house ball?
-
I was thinking of taking one of them. Are they worth anything?

My old home centre had heaps of them on the rack, lots of 12-13lb'ers, plus some green rubber things with 'santa' written on them. The lanes and machines were ex Japan and some of the house balls have 'Ashai Starlanes' written on them so i assume the package, balls and all, is from there. Some of the Beauties were better than others, some were old and 'glazed' looking, one or 2 of them almost looked like LT-48's. Good for winding it up on the old Lacquer lanes we bowled on till 1990.

We have a 14 pound UN-Punched Black Beauty in our shop. It sits there as a novelty trophy like object along with 2 16 poung Michael Jordan Basketballs. A really common great ball in it's day, cousin to the Black Diamond and later Lt-48. Really rare nudrilled.

my house used to be a brunswick recreation center from 1962 till 2000. over half of the house balls are black beautys. brunswick produced this ball from the 1930's until the 1970's----possibly the biggest selling rubber ball in history.
