I have never used polish on a ball. I've never really asked anyone about this, and I wondered what are the pros and cons. I've got a ball that I've had for awhile, and I might put some on it and see what happens.
Black Magic is the brand our center carries. One has a green label and one has a black label. I know I should get more length with the polished ball, but how about backend reaction and carry?
If anybody can help, I'd appreciate it, this is something I haven't tried and I'm clueless about! thanks

Hi
I will give a short idea.
1st what kind of ball and does your lanes
have clean backends & lot of oil ect.
and what surface on your ball now.
then can give some kind of suggestion.
and to use polish a spinner is better or pro shop
or ask pro shop see what they thinks works.

OK. First the ball is a Columbia Icon 300 with the muscle coverstock, and the lanes have pretty clean backends. The surface of the ball now is probably about a 1200-1500 grit. I'm thinking about having it sanded again, the finsih is just looking dirty, but I wanted to experiment with the polish first.

ok
that would be the time before sanding.
if you have access to a spinner
use a terry cloth or whatever use enough polish
and give it a good shine then try it out.
