The WORST ever bowling ball
« on: January 16, 2005, 05:23:51 AM »
Seen many posts on BR about the best ball so what balls do you guys and gals think is/was the worst and why?

Here are a few to consider:

1> Bone XS - Need I say more?

2> Synergy ETS - Gave a load of promises, great carry etc and delivered none!

3> Quantum Helix <The one with the urethane strip> A gimick ball that was developed to part the gulible with thier cash.

4> Excalibur - Not because it was a bad ball but because I partly blame this ball for the "Flood" of new balls that we now get every week when it would give bowling a more creditable profile as a sport if technology slowed down.
I would have got away with it if it was not for those pesky kids (Behind my lane) and those blasted 10 pins.

Crazy as it sounds, I LIKED the XS and the E.T.S.

Somehow, they both worked great for me, but I have slow speed with lots of revs. Been told I could make a ball hook uphill on ice. Don't think it is like maximum Bob or anything, but it is a lot.

Now, the Gold Angle was a whole nother story. SUCK CITY, but like me, I am sure SOMEBODY liked it.

Bob,

Way back to the gold angle?  You tryin to say I'm OLD or something? (LOL)

Guess I had a good e.t.s., mine worked great ( until it cracked open, that is!)

I watched my friend throw a brand new Bone XS and it was absolutely terrible for her. Hit like a marshmellow! She put it away and never used it again after that one game.

So about a year later she gave it to me and it ended up becoming my best ball! It carried well, gave me lots of room for error, and it loved the conditions I was bowling on (flying back ends). It was pretty allergic to oil though, and once it became too oil-logged it became allergic to everything and I gave it away. Maybe it will become somebody else's best ball now.

But I know that a lot of people hated it. I theorized that I might've been the only person to throw a 300 with it!

You weren't unlucky when you left that corner pin, so shut up about it already!!
