Title: Blister on Finger
Post by: spankdaddy300 on February 12, 2012, 11:49:07 AM
Hi all,

I developed a blister on my middle finger right on the pad on the tip over the weekend and I bowl tomorrow night.  I'm wondering what you guys typically do when you have to bowl and have a blister.  It hasn't burst yet and I don't want it to, but I have a feeling that it will burst when I bowl.  What's the best way to keep it from being too uncomfortable if it bursts?  New skin?  Tape?

Thanks!

old bowlers trick .  hollow out a raw potatoe put cut area in potatoe.  the starch helps heal the cut very rapidly.

That is a good trick. If that doesnt work it will pop and I would use glue or new skin to cover the blister. How often do you get the blister on your middle finger?

NuSkin works well- just glue on the patch and it works.  Another option is to use the protection tape from Turbo, Vise or Storm.  Those also work really well and you wont have a big time burning sensation like NuSkin on an open blister or cut.

I went with the new skin liquid patch, and it worked well.

I used to use the potato when I was a kid when I had swelling and it reduced the swelling quite well.  Thanks guys!

If you have a persistent problem with the blister, you might consider using protective tape on a regular basis.  You will probably have to open up you finger holes or get larger inserts.

First fix the cause of the blister.

Then fix the blister: break it and heal it with Vitamin E (natural, not synthetic) oil and/or aloe.
Use tape or Nu-Skin type of band-aid.

Tape usually requires that you enlarge the hole you put the finger in.
