« on: December 15, 2003, 10:34:58 PM »
Are the Blue Hammer with the orange graphics and the Blue Hammer with the white graphics the same ball?

The white label came first.  Same core but the orange label balls shipped with a highly sanded somewhat more aggressive urethane cover.  Extremely difficult to polish.

Still better for spares (and more versatile than plastic...) than the current crop of balls?

I've owned both models (original with white engraving and the remake with the pink - not orange - engraving). I don't find any difference in the color, texture, or reaction. Seemed the same to me. I never tried to polish one though - didn't make any sense since I already had the Black Hammer.
