Blue Vibe or Tropical
« on: November 17, 2007, 04:38:20 PM »
I can't decide between the two. I need a strong arc type reaction for medium to light oil. I had to drop to 14 lb equipment so I am starting over with my arsenal. I need some opinions. Thanks in advance.

Both are very good pieces for the price, but you'll see more control and more of an arc with the Blue Vibe.  For me at least the Tropical was pretty snappy, which I loved.  Very good ball, but for what you want I agree with the masses...take the Blue Vibe.

I would go with the Vibe blue or cherry.  I wish I could throw one of those...but that's a different story.

I'd take the Blue Vibe over a Tropical.

I think the Jolt Pearl is more comparable to the Vibe, if you want to use Storm.

I do not have a Vibe, but my Tropical is quite a bit stronger than I anticipated, and it can be pretty flippy off the dry. Hit/carry is nowhere near what I am used to (only low end ball I own compared to high end Lane #1 and Ebonite).

You can make anything arch-y with manipulation with layouts and cover prep.  But, if you want a ball "designed" to be more arc instead of snap, the Blue Vibe is the way to go.  Cherry Vibe is designed to be very angular off the dry.  Another route you could go is the Jolt Solid or Particle in the same price point.

As said above...blue vibe is a nice smooth...weaker ball.  Tropical is a killer in our area with lots of backend.  Long and strong baby.
