Hey everyone,

I've been on BR for a fairly long time, so I know that I can come on here and get your honest opinions about where to look for a new Pro Shop. My wife and I are relocating to Charlotte, NC and I'd like to know where I should consider to take my business for drilling my equipment.

Can you give me some ideas about what shops to go talk to, so I can get a feel for their way of doing things?

Thanks in advance and please let me know what you think!
~Aaron

I wish you luck. I came to Raleigh from Long Island 8 years ago. In NY I dealt exclusively with local Pro Shops .. had all the faith in the world in them. In NC (at least in Raleigh) I find the pricing (related to bowling) over priced. You don't have options of SHOPPING AROUND .. the Pro Shops network with each other and FIX the prices.

I noted this on BR many years ago and Pro Shop owners told me I was wrong/wrong/wrong! Well .. 8 years later I still feel the same way. I've bought NUMEROUS balls since I've been here .. ALL ON THE WEB! Never been disappointed and saved PLENTY of money!

I've also heard good things about Leon in REverse's post.  Our own JPRLane1 (Jesse) works there.

I have to second Leon Lamm.  Talked with him many times at Liberty Lanes in Gastonia, NC and he seems very knowledgeable and a nice guy.  Never had anything drilled by him but know many that have and had good experiences.

it is been a very long time

but I believe at the George Pappas Park Lanes
there is Strike-Mor Pro Shop

if Hal is still drilling the balls (he is the owner of the proshop), he is an excellent driller

Leon.

You can't go wrong there.  He may cost a little bit, but he's worth every penny.

Leon gets ALL my work (Jesse at Park Lanes)!!! Leon spends a lot of time at George's new house in Mooresville (exit 36 off I-77).

Hal is no longer at Park Lanes (in Charlotte), he is now in Huntersville (exit 25 off I-77; at Northcross Lanes).

Yes, as everyone said Leon is the one to see, you will probably need to grab his cell # from one of the shops (Mooresville, Park lanes, University, and Liberty Lanes) to grab hold of him if you want him to drill your stuff personally.  If you come into Park Lanes on Thursdays or Mooresville (Victory Lanes) on the weekends, I will be in there.

...btw the shops are called "The Right Approach".

If you wouldn't mind the ride. James Perkins in Durham NC is a great driller. He's located in the basement of the Northgate Mall. Prices are farly cheap, but the result is good. If you become a regular discounts come.

I go to Strike-Mor Pro Shop in  Huntersville in Northcross Lanes. Eric has never did me wrong and is a great guy. He'll take care of you and get you what you need in a ball. Only 10 min's from Charlotte, North on I-77, exit #25.
