Bouncing heads
« on: November 15, 2008, 08:35:19 AM »
Literally there is a center that is an older house yet changed their lanes from wood to synthetic many years ago and noticed something instantly last three weekends: the ball can bounce on the heads. Seriously, the ball will double dribble. I can go to any other house and will not go this. To prevent this it forced me to go to a deeper knee band and relax my hand more. I talked to someone there about it and they said the lanes are not even from wear and weather but I can't see anything wrong.

I've bowled in a few houses like that.  Moving deeper on the lane is what I do.  I was bowling a tournament in a house that was in VERY bad shape.  I saw this guy release the ball, it hit the lane and bounced dead right into the gutter.....no lie.

Had this happen in two AMF houses in Evansville, Indiana and on base at NAS Pax River in Maryland.  Freaks me out for the first 5 frames then I just throw it.  I typically loft it a little and with the extra bounce I have no worries getting the ball through the heads.

LaneHammer20, surely he isn't talking about ARC Lanes. It can't be River City because that's where i bowl.

haha yea a league I bowled in at a house in Michigan had a pair of lanes where the track area had raised up boards.  You could smoke the 10 board, and bounce and leave flat 7's all day if you were a lefty and 10's if you were a righty.
