****FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE****
Sun Valley Lanes (321 Victory Lane) in Lincoln is announcing the largest investment in its 41-year history, a $4,000,000 expansion and renovation.
Sun Valley Lanes, which opened its doors in 1977, is expanding its entertainment and recreation offerings, by becoming Lincoln’s first Hybrid Entertainment Center. The new “Sun Valley Lanes and Games†will offer 32 lanes of traditional bowling, 32 lanes of Hyper Bowling, an expanded arcade, an expanded kitchen and lounge, an outdoor patio, a new bowling pro shop, a 24 player two-level laser tag arena, three sand volleyball courts, and a revolutionary new style of mini golf that debuts later this year.
By building a new 6250 SF expansion, as well as purchasing the adjacent 25,000 SF property at 320 West P Street, Sun Valley Lanes and Games will expand on it’s “elevated bowling experience†by bringing that same elevated experience to laser tag, mini-golf and volleyball, to become a 60,000SF recreation destination.
“We have become known as a world-class bowling facility and we wanted to bring that same level of fun to other activities, as well as improve upon our food and beverage options. Besides taking the fun to the next level in multiple activities, we expect to do the same with our food and beverages as well.†Center owner John Losito stated. In order to reflect the operational change of the facility, the new business name will be “Sun Valley Lanes & Gamesâ€.
The expansion project has already begun, by moving our current entrance to the NE corner of the original facility, with the new laser tag, arcade, mini golf and volleyball expecting to open in the spring/summer of 2020. With this new expansion, approximately 20 new full and part jobs will be created.
Sun Valley Lanes is hosting the 2020 Men’s US Open, which is the first “bowling major†ever conducted in Nebraska. “The construction process will actually help reduce issues in us hosting the US Open, as we will have temporary storage space for the approximate 1500 bowling balls that the professional bowlers will use during the eventâ€, John added. That tournament will conclude with a live TV show on the FOX network on Sunday, February 23rd at 1pm CST.
For the master planning, design and new branding, Sun Valley enlisted the services of US Design Lab. Headquartered in Tampa, Florida, US Design Lab specializes in master planning, design, brand development and marketing for bowling, family entertainment centers (FEC’s), and other entertainment and hospitality venues.
