Bowlers vs. Education Level?
« on: April 07, 2005, 01:38:38 PM »
I was reading the recent post about "Why are all bowlers fat and stupid?", and I got to wondering ... are bowlers stupid? (Note - stupid and uneducated are different, but for the purpose of a smooth transistion to a new post here, let's assume they're the same.)
How many of the readers here have a college education, or plan to get a college education? If you are degreed, what was your major?
I think that you'll find that more often than not, bowlers are as educated as anyone else.
I'll start the list ... BS in Mech. Engineering, Ohio State; Masters in Engineering from Case Western Reserve University.
How about you?
Added - 4/8/05 - I forgot to add, I'm 5'11", 165#. Love all sports, esp. mountain biking.

Only in High School right now . . . But I plan on getting at least one degree in Foreign Languages, and one in Mathematics when I go to college.

Well I'm in sophomore year of high school right now, and I have a 4.4 out of 4.5 gpa in a really good catholic school. So it is more of a generalization, because I can probably get into an ivy league college when the time comes.

BA in English, 3.65 out of 4.0 GPA
Valedictorian of my high school- 3.93 out of 4.0 GPA

I would consider myself fairly intelligent, so I don't think I resemble the all bowlers are stupid remark...

I have a BS in Admin of Justice and Business Management.  I graduated from Portland State in 1992 with a 3.85 GPA.  Just to brag a little, I graduated from HS with a 4.0 GPA...  Unfortunately, I am overweight and I drink a little, so I fit that stereotype of a bowler.
