Team side-action
« on: July 07, 2009, 01:45:53 PM »
People play side-action all the time---Eliminators, brackets, card games, etc.

Other than card games, what kind of side action do you get involved with, with your team? Some just do high games. Obviously, card games are going on everywhere. I know some people play Quarters games---take a quarter for doubles and every strike after. Just curious if anyone has anything new and different.

Our team builds a 30 clean pot.  $1 per person each night, pot builds until one of us has a 30 clean night, then starts over.  If no one wins it by the end of the season, we split it and start over next season.  It's a 3 man team, we all average over 200.  We've been doing this for three seasons and it's only been won once.  --  JohnP

My team does a couple of different things.  When we get a beer frame instead of buying a round the person who gets caught has to pay $10, and when anybody on the team gets a turkey everybody else on the team has to pay $1 for it and every strike after in succession.  All that money goes into a pot that gets used on a fancy team dinner in Vegas when we are there for sweepers.  Usually we have about $1500 in the pot when it is all said and done.  Also the person who has the lowest game of the league on our team has to buy the first round in Vegas.

Our team has a penalty pool that gets divided at the end of the season.

.10 for an open (non-split)
$1 if you get hung
$1 if you don't get your average
.10 for everyone else if you get a double
.25 for everyone else if you shoot 200+
.10 for everyone else if you convert a split

5 man teams, drinking league, each guy got about $150 back this past year

Similar to massbowler, we have a kitty that gets divided at the end of the season.

$.10 for low count on first ball each frame
$1.00 for a hang
$1.00 for a single pin miss
$.50 for each non-strike the frame after everyone strikes (progressive)
$.50 for missing average for a game
$1.00 for missing average for series
