Title: Bowling Bag
Post by: MrNickRo on September 18, 2013, 11:53:04 AM
Last year, I hauled around a 3 ball roller and a 2 ball over the shoulder bag.  I didn't mind it for tournaments, but lately, I've just been going with the 3 ball roller - it's in awful a shape.

I'm think about switching to one of the tall rollers that can carry 3, 4, or 5 balls.  Any suggestions or advice?  I'd probably carry 4, putting 3 in the main compartment and a fourth down by the wheels -if that makes sense.

Looking for a decent price.

Thanks, that's a nice option.

Just to throw out another option, especially since you bowl tournaments, is to have just the minimalistic 3 ball rollers like this:

and carry your shoes and accessories in a separate 2 ball tote like this:

Get as many 3 ball rollers as needed.  Plus they are easier (for me) to get in and out of the trunk.

The reason I like this method is the larger bags can be a hassle to maneuver through congested areas.  And the small tote is great so I don't have to tote a large bag around when I skip lanes.  I am also able to set up each 3 ball roller with a particular group of balls (i.e. heavy oil, medium oil, light oil).

Just an option that works for me.

I do like that option for tournament, and have definitely used my minimalistic two ball bag for moving lanes, etc. I want to get one of the 3-4-5 ball bags so I can bring 3 to a relaxed bowling session (subbing in a couples league) or 5 to a little tournament action.

I've owned the 3-4-5 roller and hated it. It takes up more room than it should, especially to get balls in and out of when you have the 4th ball in the exterior pouch.

I currently have the Storm Rolling Thunder 6 baller, but rarely use the middle section. The Rolling Thunder line or the Streamline 4 ball roller is less cumbersome to deal with than the 3-4-5 design. And carrying the 5th ball is as easy as a single ball tote that sits on top.

Good to know.  I've always disliked the stacking bags, so maybe I'll just stick with the 3 and 2 method.  Although, I like the luxury of bringing one bag to league, and sometimes I with I had 4 instead of 3.

I currently own a 6 ball roller.  Like it better than any of the others.  Middle 2 are my extreme balls for extreme oil and burnt lanes.  House patterns, I normally bring 3 balls plus my spare ball. To tournaments or houses, I don't know, I take all 6.  Putting them in the car is easier, because they go in like 3 double ball bags.  At tournaments, all of my stuff is in one place.  I don't have one bag here and one somewhere else.  Also it is one bag to pull and easier than 2 3-Ball bags.
