360 Degree Technology
« on: August 23, 2007, 02:41:39 AM »
I was talking to an exempt pro about new balls coming out, and he said something about 360 degree technology.  I forget what he was talking about, but he said you could place the mass bias anywhere on the ball to modify the reaction.  Anyone got any info?  I know you could already put the mass bias anywhere you want to, who knows, maybe the next ball layout you will have puts the mass bias above your ring finger.

You most assuredly can put the MB anywhere and alter the reaction.  That's why we have strong asymmetric balls.

But it still has to be legal.  And some of those reactions may not be very desirable.  Putting the MB on a strong asym in your track or PAP can do goofy things to the way the ball flares.

Really, you're limited to putting it on some half of the ball.  When it moves to some other half of the ball, the spot 180* from the MB is back on the first half.  Remember the MB is also called the Preferred Spin Axis, that axis goes all the way through the ball and there is a second mass bias on the other side.

From what I understand it is kind of like Ebonite's BOMB's Away.  But this you drill normal one way and you get a very early roll with strong continous hook and then you just flip it around and you get length out of the same ball.

I cannot wait for the Rising to come out in October.  Good things are happening at Track.
