If you could post one tip that you've learned through your own game or something that another has taught you and you've applied for successful results in your bowling game, what would that tip be?

Mine would be to take every game one shot at a time. You can't shoot 300 in one game without putting together 12 1-baggers to start. I learned this from one of my teammates at a tournament recently where he would have no idea how many strikes he had in a row, because his mindset was just to get one strike in a row and then move on to the next frame. Good tip to keep yourself relaxed and in the moment in my opinion.

Try to picture what you want to do, then keep this mental picture untill you have cleared the shot.

Always go poop before you bowl. "Back up" leads to bad shots.

I learned this in baseball...

You play like you practice.

In other words, if you goof off and stuff in practice, it will carry over to game time.  Lou Holtz (football coach and inspirtational speaker) teaches something close to this as well, but it goes more like this...

Put pressure on yourself all of the time, even in practice.

You can practice pressure situations just like you can practice picking up 10 pins or hitting the pocket.  If you're used to being under pressure when the pressure is really there, then you will be ready for it.

Oh yeah, and eat with your non-bowling hand

One shot at a time
Forget the last frame, it's over and doesn't matter anymore.

After working with Bill Hall last year the 2 most important tips i use every shot are:

1- there is no such thing in proper bowling as a pushaway it is setting the ball into the swing plane which creates a  free arm swing there is no way to totally eliminate musculing of the ball but you can come very close to it.

2- The ball is like the equator keep your fingers under the southern hemisphere and you will come through every shot imparting roll on the ball. I teach this method to my newbie bowler friends and i have helped increase one of them 30 pins a game!!

I can now bowl on any shot from these 2 tips alone it keep me under and through every shot and i roll the ball very nicely now, if only my left knee was 100 percent again!! I have been told i have one of the best arm swings that many have seen i keep a closed shoulder from start to finish. I cant hook the lane but roll the nicely every single shot now. Thanks Bill Hall if you still lurk here hahaha!!

Just think to yourself that getting mad does nothing. Getting excited and revved up will result in confidence and will draw crowds. Drawing crowds is like already winning. I love audiences!

Buy less equipment and more coaching.

Pratice with a purpose not for a score.

get a plastic ball and adopt a simple spares shooting system. i.e 3-6-9

bowl within yourself. i.e. don't try and rev it like Robert smith if it ruins the reat of you game.

Develope a game that will last you a lifetime, no unnessesary movements, straight consistant armswing, don't over-rev the ball (crankers are more suseptable to injuries), go straight at most spares, practice your spares.

Also, don't overlook the importance of having good shoes, interchangable soles/heels to adjust to the approaches.

Sometimes low average bowlers can catch something wrong in a high average guys and can give advice, listen to them, some advices work I remember one day I told a higher average bowler (of course he was desperate and asked me LOL) What can I do know ? He was having a ten pin fest and he thought he tried everything and I told him, "just move 2 inches forward" and guess what ?? He hasn't tried that move, he was moving left, and my advice worked !!!

One more is not to be angry with your teammates if they don't convert single pin spares, maybe it'll be better to cheer them
