A story relating to pchee's drilling woes
« on: September 30, 2003, 04:54:32 AM »
Lol, I heard this the other day and just about lost it.  This guy that drills stuff here in town (he owns the center and kind of does the pro shop for his fan base) sold a Wicked to a woman here.  It was Maggie Crawford (Mrs. 860, so she's not just some league hack that wouldn't know the difference).  He drilled the ball up, and had one of the women that worked at the center throw it BEFORE giving it to Maggie, because he was under the delusion that this woman threw the ball similar to Maggie.  Anyway, they didn't like the way it reacted, so he sanded it.  Lol, still didn't like it after that, so he completely plugged and redrilled the ball.  This is all before Maggie even knew the ball was IN yet, hehe.  So naturally when she comes to pick up her new ball and it's been sanded and polished a couple times, not to mention completely plugged and redrilled, it's not a pleasant situation.  She ended up selling it to the woman that had been throwing it.  I KEEP telling people that Topeka people are retarded . .

HAH!  I don't know ANYBODY now!

Being in adult leagues teaches you many things.

1.  You're not on top anymore, but there are a lot more people that suck worse than you do now.

2.  The myth about the youths having an easier shot is NOT TRUE.  I'd have an entire ring collection if it was.

3.  Drunk adults are a lot funnier than drunk youths.

That's one of my biggest complaints- shops that drill a ball for you after you order it, without asking you how you want it laid out. This is what happened when I bought my Icon. It was ordered on a Monday, and when I came to pick it up on Wednesday it's all drilled already. It wasn't really that close to what I was intending to do with the layout, but in the end all worked out and I learned to like it. Downside was later having to purchase a Smash/R to fill the void in my arsenal that my Icon was SUPPOSED to fill.
