Arsenal Question - Utah
« on: December 06, 2013, 10:20:33 AM »
Hey all.  Right now I'm throwing a berserk and a Frantic for league.  I'm going shopping next week and am looking for opinions.  I guarantee I will be buying a IQ Tour Fusion in February, so I am looking to get something up from that.  Right now, I'm between a Lucid and a Defiant Soul.  I'd love to get some opinions.

Again:
Frantic
Berserk
Fusion (February :))
?

High speed high revs with a high track.  Quick vid to get a visual below:

Appreciate the opinions!

The Soul and Disturbed are great balls!! Different motions! Both stronger than Beserk and I would recommend either. I have both and love them both. I changed surface on Disturbed to 500/1000/2000/3000 and it gave me a bit more separation between the two in over all ball strength. Both at ob surface the over all strength is close with soul a touch stronger after surface change I have about 3-4 difference and still a big motion difference.
You can't go wrong with either, depends on motion you are looking for.

Is the disturbed sooner and overall rollier?

Not necessarily, it's a lot like a benchmark ball.

Is the disturbed sooner and overall rollier?
What would you be if you were attached to another object by an inclined plane, wrapped helically around an axis?

It is earlier and rollover in my opinion than the Beserk. It does have a great "benchmark" type reaction because it reads the lane so well and never seems to seems to over react. It is a very strong ball

I have my Berserk drilled to roll pretty earlier and I'm planning on getting the Fusion for my benchmark type of reaction.  Right now, the Soul is really winning in my head.

The Soul is a great ball. You couldn't go wrong with either! My buddy has soul and Beserk and Beserk is great ball down. I have soul and disturbed. Again. No wrong decision to be made. This is an easy one. You win either way! Lol

The Soul and Disturbed are both great options.  As others have mentioned, you really won't go wrong either way.

Between the Lucid and Soul, I would take the Soul.  It's very driller friendly (I have the original Defiant), has predictable motion, and tends to be continuous.  The Lucid gets into a heavier roll due to its core design, even with its pearl cover.  That motion reminds me more of the Anarchy when that was out around 2010.  It's also a good ball but you'll get more out of the Soul in terms of versatility IMO.

The Disturbed will read a little earlier and also gets into more of a heavy roll compared to the Soul.  Overall strength is similar with OOB going to the Soul by a few boards.  However, they are close to where you could go with either by tweaking the layout.

So either way, you can't go wrong.

I went with the Defiant Soul and am pretty pumped about it.  I only threw a few shots with it in open bowling Tuesday because the lanes were fired, but I bowl league tonight and am eager to see it roll.

Even on the fried shot I was able to get insanely left and still get it to recover.  Even though I would never do this, it gets me excited inside to see what it is capable of.

Now I wait for the Fusion :) :)
