The former manager of Green Valley Lanes in Green Valley AZ will spend the next 17 years in prison.
William O’Rourke was sentenced Friday to 17 years and 10 years on two counts of exploitation; 2.5 years for furnishing obscene or harmful items to a minor; and 1.5 years for public sexual indecency to a minor under age 15.
The sentences will be served concurrently and he must serve 100 percent of the time.
O’Rourke pleaded guilty in February to two counts involving a relationship with a 12-year-old boy. According to court records, he showed the boy pornography and they masturbated together.
He also had child pornography in his home, which he continued to deny at sentencing.
The mother of the boy, who lives in Green Valley, asked for a maximum sentence of 24 years when she spoke to the court at the sentencing. She told the judge that O’Rourke needs to be separated from society as long as possible.
O’Rourke served for three years as technical coach to a bowling team largely made up of teenagers from Sahuarita. He eventually was banned from being at the bowling alley while it was open but continued to manage it from home using remote videocameras.
