Title: bowling centers in your area

how many centers do you have access to? just wondering, i was thinking the other day about how blessed i am. the area i live in,(the triad area of north carolina) has about 11 centers in about a 40 mile radius. theres always a tournament going on somewhere, and there a many scratch leagues to choose from. i think we have one of the best areas to bowl in in the south. how's your area?

here: none 10-15 miles away 2 possibly 3 im not sure if one is still open because its been a while since i've been out that way but it was a junky place anyway not many people bowled there anymore

fc: louisville, ky huh? ever make the trip to bluefield, wva for their scratch and hdcap tournaments.

WOW i wish my travel league was like that.. our CLOSEST one was about 35-40 miles away... our farthest one was 120 miles away!!

15 with-in 12 miles 20+ with-in 20 miles and a new 48 lane house giong up as I type slated to open this summer. Chicago west burbs.
I had originally reported a 100 lane house but it has been confrimed that due to some politcial dealings they have setteled to build 48 instead still a nice sized house.

Antioch Bowl
Lake Hurst Bowl
Lakes Bowl
Harbor Lanes
Castle Lanes
Shridan Lanes
Guttormensens
Mundeline Lanes (newly named to LakeSide Bowl)

There is at least 2-3 more that I am sure I missed. I know of 12 that I listed, I have bowled leauge in every house at 1 time or another. If it was summer or winter leauges.

Within a 30 minutes drive from home: 9 or 10, and they are very different in quality and maintenance standard. You get everything from kids' birthday patterns to high quality sport shots.

Within a 45 minute drive, there is probably about 25 bowling alleys at the minimum by me (Los Angeles Area)

within a half hour drive there are 7. they range from little mom and pop places with 6 lanes to larger centers with 40 lanes. the little places are only open evenings and the others are open 24/7.

Actually, we have a few around here in the Shenandoah Valley, VA, within about half an hour from me, which is kind of surprising for this area...

Valley Lanes, Harrisonburg
Mountain View, Woodstock
Northside, Winchester
Signal Knob, Strasburg
Royal Family, Front Royal

And if you're willing to drive an hour, there are many more:

Staunton Bowl, Staunton
Shenandoah, Charles Town (WV)
Many others in Northern VA...

Wow... Never realized how many we had around here.

Here we have four within a 15 mile distance from my home.  The smallest is 24 lanes.

we have one house that is 16 lanes, the next closest is 100 miles away with 12 lanes, after that you have to drive over 200 miles to get at least 24 lanes and a proshop.

I live in small town, and we only have one 20 lane house. But within and hours drive, there is quite a few to pick from.
