Best Way to Ship Ball to Canada
« on: May 04, 2008, 02:35:18 PM »
Like the title says best reasonable way to ship a single 15 lber. to Toronto, Ontario from Wisconsin?  Anybody have any suggestions?  Customs?  What's involved?  Any experiences?

Thanks!

Ive never shipped a ball to Canada, but have done quite a few headlight parts.
I usually just write exactly what it is on the customs form and never had a problem. I shipped a ballast to Scotland and it was there in 5 days. To Canada its usually about a 2 week shipping period because they will check out the box.

Thanks rustylegacy.

I checked USPS website and they say 16 lb package to Toronto Int'l soemthing or other Priority 6-10 days.  I'll have to check on customs forms.

I ship most places overseas, Canada as well and USPS is usually cheaper and faster. There's 2 different customs forms, depending on weight and amount of item. I always go with the 2976-A form. It's larger, but that one covers everything they will want to know. Has a plastic sleeve, 2976 also to put it in, just don't close it up until you drop it off, they stamp it and give you a copy.

Good Luck !

I used to always use USPS to ship to Canada but my recent shipments have shown to be different.

My last 3 ball shipment to London, Ontario showed a $5 savings to use UPS instead of teh USPS.

SO it's UPS within North America. If I have to cross big r USPS is still the way to go.

UPS is cheaper but more paper work and faster service!
