Storms Extra Shine polish
« on: March 18, 2012, 09:18:10 PM »
How good is storms extra shine ball polish, I have been looking to get a little more lenght out of my 1500 polished Bandit. I have been trying to get power houses factory finish but my pro shop has not been able to get it, he gave me a bottle of the extra shine. I tried it but it seemed to give my ball to much length and the backend had mellowed out. Has anybody else used this product and had this happen?

It's called Xtra Shine, and it's a very good polish, indeed, in my opinion.
It has abrasive in it and it CAN take balls to as much as 3500 grit, theoretically. In any case, The finer the finish/sanding under the polish, the longer the ball will go. I'd suggest starting off with a true 2000 grit (500, 1000, then 2000 grit sanding) and then apply a medium dose of Xtra Shine.  It will put a fast shine on the ball and it will get length. If you find it needs more, a 2nd polishing will get you more length (medium dose, medium pressure, 2 or 4 sides is all it takes). and a higher level of gloss.
