Depends on the bowler...how much of the time his ball stays in the oil...how high a track he has(the higher it is assumed more friction I believe), how many revs(in relation to speed).
I have seen differences it seems averaging more like closer to 3 for many of the people whose printouts I saw at Kegel.
For myself a rev dominate player with a very high track...I had many readings of 3 mph difference and a couple of shots that really got in the friction that had almost 5 mph of difference(still came back and got the pocket).
Greater differences as above are better for heavy oil and carrydown. Smaller differences are often real sweet on fresh shots!
