Bowling in Berkeley, CA
« on: May 29, 2008, 03:16:13 PM »
Hi everyone,
I´m on a Summer Session here at the University of Berkeley, CA, and well, I wanted to know if there´s a good bowling center or alley around (perhaps in San Francisco), because besides from playing I want to obtain a Cell and have it drilled (yes, it´s kind of a little expensive souvenir, even though I obviously expect that it will become my benchmark ball)...

So, any suggestion of where to go???

Thanks in advance

Rick Leong (tenpinspro) has a shop in Alameda. Search for him here and message him.

There's Serra Bowl and Classic Bowling, just a little south of S.F.

Rick has left the house in Alameda. He is now drilling out of his garage. (It's a long story). It doesn't hurt the wonderful work though.

albany bowl, horrible traffic all of the time, small parking lot, lane 21 is right next to the wall, so forget about standing left to shoot at 10 pins, lane 30 is also right next to the wall, so lefties have same issue with shooting 7 pins.  further up the road from berkeley is pinole valley bowl.  while it is an amf house with the normal amf issues, at least there is a large parking lot, and the center is well designed.  there is also castro village bowl in castro valley and manor lanes in san leandro (south of berkeley).  the main issue with these two centers, are owners who stopped caring a long time ago, but if you are only concerned with open play, they are ok.
