BOWLING IN CANADA
« on: June 28, 2010, 07:33:58 AM »
I am going up to Canada later this year and wanted to try out duckpin bowling.
Do they have any centers in the Vancouver area or is duckpin mainly on the East Coast??
I found some houses with 5 pin bowling.. Anybody ever done that??

connecticut to virginia is where you see duckpins. they have rubberband duckpins in pennsylvania (and i guess some in canada as someone mentioned). i love playing 5 pin the best of all the small ball games (duckpin,5 pin, rubberband duckpin, and candlepins). would like to get down to texas to play 9 pin someday. if you get the opportunity definitely try 5 pin.

I'm going to Delaware area later this year too so maybe I'll try to find some duckpin bowling in the area.. I'll check out the 5 pin when I am up in Vancouver, Canada.  You use a small , duckpin style ball, for 5pin???
My dad is from Blanco texas.  The alley there is I think 6 lanes... manually hand set 9 pin. I bowled on it when I was like 6 or 7 and that was the last time..
I'm going there in October.. Maybe I'll give it a go.. I'm not even sure if they allow non member open play cause it is a Bowling Club .. I think the people that bowl own the lanes or something.

I have to imagine that they still oil the lanes with mops or sprayers..This town is still super small
Here are some links to the place.. no pics of the lanes though.
