Good idea or not?
« on: October 02, 2009, 11:26:54 PM »
Want to try improving my delivery and need to do alot of work. I'm thinking of getting a #10 ball so it isn't a strain to stop mid swing and check positions. Has anybody else tried this?

I understand Pete Weber used light equipment to develop his style!

There was always a rumor that Mike Miller (P.B.A.) went down to a 10# ball to develop his thumbless release, then worked his way back up to his current weight.

If that is true, using lower weights as a training tool may be a viable option.

I'd say that was more than likely just to get used to the weight as there is more strain on the wrist with the thumbless style...

I would suggest if you want to analyse your style at specific points simply video yourself... using a lighter ball may in fact alter your timing.

I agree with Ryan that a light ball could affect your timing.I tried it with a 13lbs ball an it thru off my timing alot.So I bought motionpro an a used camcorder an video tape my self,an that worked much better. Some of my friends like it too

I wasn't thinking of using the 10 lb ball to actually throw at pins but use it at home to try and develop proper swing positions. luv2C10falll, what exactly is Motionpro ?
