Good news from the doctor today.

Well i''m 11 weeks out from my surgery and today the doctor ordered the skin graft for my foot. Hopefully only another 6-8 weeks till i''m back bowling. And hopefully without the crowe orthodic walking boot

Thanks for the well wishes. I joke that i will have to learn to bowl all over again.As i have been bowling with an orthodic boot/cast on my right foot for 6 years i have developed some bad habits. So it will be a matter of building stamina back up and lots of practice.

this going to be your slide or push foot? I just had a motorcyle crash and have just had a skin graft off my thigh to put over where they cut infection out of where it broke...... I think i will be out for a good while rh mabye forever. There is always lefty....

It is on my non sliding foot. It is also a graft thats laboratory grown. I will still have the wound vac for about 4 weeks. Good luck on your recovery. I know from experience how much "no fun" long hospital stays are. Two years ago I was in for 6 weeks getting 4 IV's a day duee to a bone infection. This foot problem is the result of a condition called Charcot. It is caused by the neuropathy caused by diabetes

that freaking wound vac is the most horrible pain I have ever felt. They took one of my sponges off while I was still awake.   I looked like sylvester the cat hanging from te ceiling squealing in pain!! my skin graft is real
