bowling in your state tournament?
« on: February 03, 2004, 02:08:02 PM »
Ok, i have always heard that the house that is holding the tournament is suppose to use THIER regular house shot.  But is this Always true?

In Michigan, since the State tournament seems to always be on the EastSide of the state, it seems that everyone from the westside always have Horror stories about thier lanes or some whatnot that they see.

Take for instance, i heard from several guys this yr that came back, that one of the houses had the first 20lanes synthetic and the last 40 wood.  Well all the high scores where on the synthetic lanes and if you could break 600 on the wood lanes u bowled outa your mind lol.

Now i cant remember if this was team portion or singles/doubles, cuz i didnt bowl in the state tournament this yr.

Then one of the guys on my monday team said a couple yrs back when the state tournament was in BayCity, he seen them Oil for first shift only to the Arrows.  And said his pink hammer was pluckin the 7pin.

Yet it seems when the State Tournament is over on the Westside of the state, the houses put out thier regular House Shot.

I am just wondering if this is a common occurance?

Then of course two yrs ago in the Mixed Doubles State for mich, which was over on the Eastside again, the house put out a shot that was so Oily that a fellow bowler of mine  Scott Smith, who is probably one of the best bowlers in Michigan, said he was going up 2nd arrow with his SuperPower very slowly and it was backing up into the pocket.

He gave me a example of the shot with his Trauma on how slow he was going with the ball, up second arrow and he plucked the 7pin with the ball.  I about laughed.

So just chime in with your stories on State Tournaments in your Area.
