This isn't an actual scoring idea, but it is a way to put a better perspective on spare shooting. In a scratch league last year, we had what was referred to as a "P" point. (No idea where P came from or why it was called that) We bowled on the Red, White and Blue patterns. You got a P point for a clean game, so even if you lost your point for the game, you got a point for the clean game. At the end of the year, P points were paid separately than game points, but they did count for seeding in the roll-off.
