Bowling League Prize Fund Calculator
« on: October 04, 2024, 05:52:33 PM »
I've been tasked to make up a prize fund for our league.  Being as this is the first time I've ever been asked to do this, I'm quite overwhelmed.  Any suggestions and or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I have found excel is a good tool.  Sit with your league offices and determine best prize fund for your league.  Leagues with mixed skill levels, it is best to reward everyone.  I found important to determine last place payouts and work upward.  Rewarding the weaker teams will coax them into returning year after year and believe it or not they are the teams that keep league attendance up.   Bowling is no longer a place where people are making a lot of money with lineage costs taking most of the league fees.  In NY, currently paying $18 in lineage which is more than half our league fees.   Good luck and good bowling.

hi there,
When creating a prize fund, you can start by determining the total amount. Then divide equally among the rankings, for example: 1st takes 50%, 2nd 30%, 3rd 20%. If you want more variety, you can add additional awards like "Most Improved" or "Sportsmanship" to motivate everyone. Don't be afraid to ask for opinions from other members of the tournament to make sure everyone finds it reasonable.
Good luck!

Since it's 2024 already, you should use ChatGPT, You.com, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot etc.

Just tell it what you want, and it will create the schedule for you. You can add additional details, and it will adjust it automatically.
