Bowling Leagues
« on: February 26, 2010, 12:08:28 AM »
In the house I bowl in there are 48 lanes. Our league bowls on the low end every week. Is it asking to much to bowl on all the lanes during the season ? They have 3 leagues on the day that I bowl. It seems possible for them to move all the leagues during the course of the year so you can get a different look on the middle and high end. Is this common place across the country where you bowl in one area of the house the entire year ? I do bowl in the same place on Sat. where the league takes up close the the entire house so you bowl on all the lanes during the year. There is a difference in the house from the low end to the high end. What about the house where some of you bowl in ? Thank Carlos

Any league I have bowled in has had assigned pairs for the league and did not move around during the course of the year.

The only league I had that didn't do that was a travel league and we were assigned what pairs the house wanted us to use that week.

Every year the center manager allocates specific lanes to a specific league.  Some leagues do not start at the same time nor do they end at the same times (4 person vs 5 person leagues).  Plus some take off certain days of the year while other bowl.  They also want to insure they have enough lanes away from the league for open play after 1 or 2 or the leagues are finished for the night.  Also, some centers may put down a easier shot for mixed leagues vs another competive league.  This is just plain good management and an extremely common practice.

One other point .. usually the league is switched to a different group of lanes the following season.
