Does USBC still have an award for 100 over average?
« on: February 25, 2010, 01:14:36 AM »
Or is that one of those awards that was done away with? 100 over game, not series.

Thanks,

There are chevrons for high game awards depending on your average.

If you average less than 201 those would be available.

When you had a game 100 pins over average, it use to be a watch.  Now only a chevron?

Too bad, this is a great achievement to only get awarded a chevron. Next to my 800 award, this one is special to me. Especially for all those 200+ ave guys out there. Several years ago, I was able to sneak away with this while carrying a 198 ave early in the season and shot 300.

I love my watch, however I did see a distinct difference in size, shape, design, style, and quality as compared to my father's watch that was earned back in the urethane days of the late 80's. Once received, I immediately noticed ABC started to get cheap with their awards. One striking difference I noticed, was on my father's it said "Century Award w/ an eagle logo and on mine, it only said 100 pins over average and an ABC logo. I knew it was only a matter of time when they were going to cease to exist. It was only inevitable when everyone merged and became USBC.

Wish they would bring this award back for the sake of honoring achievements like this. After all isn't this what we pay our annual dues and fees for?
