It''s Here! Video Ball Reviews!
« on: July 07, 2010, 01:51:45 AM »
Something I have been working on for a while is finally ready for unveiling!

It''s Tamer Bowling Video Ball Reviews!  The most comprehensive video ball reviews available.  It''s substantially different from anything else available so check it out to find out why.

Tell me if you like it, if you don''t, what can be improved.  I plan to expand the lineup substantially as new stuff trickles in.

Check it out and let me know what you think!

Enough said!

I beg to differ almost all of the Lanemasters and Legends plus another bunch of videos done by BuddiesProShop.com staff member, Bill Gross on Buddies vids over the years a wrongsider.  Like these.

I wish you all the best, but I disagree that ball manufacturers mislead bowlers in their videos.  They don''t need to put out a ball-specific condition when they have touring pros throwing the equipment.  Not all of which are crankers.  What is misleading are many of the regular bowler videos I see on YouTube on a wall house shot showing two minutes of non stop strikes with 6-7 boards area.

I think that it''s a little odd to say that you are using a bowler that represents most bowlers, but is a leftie.  Lanes have different degrees of abuse on the two sides of a lane.  That''s why at a wood house there are dark colored boards on the right side track area.

It''s a great idea to use Digitrax for analysis.  But the human factor is still too much of a variable.  If you want accuracy and consistency, you need a robot.  Like this

Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback.  I'd like to address a couple of point "in rebuttal".

Regarding ball manufacturers, their main agenda is to sell bowling balls.  I have rarely if ever seen a mfr video which clearly states which pattern they are demonstrating the ball on.  Without that, you really don't have much at all.
Regarding your second point about "regular bowler videos" being misleading because they are being demonstrated on a walled up shot, I would argue this is not misleading at all.  If 90% of bowlers bowl on THS and probably 50% or so are walled up, you are more likely to see the "truth" as it relates to what the average bowler will see in their "home" house.  Pro bowlers can make almost any ball look great on any condition.  That is more misleading.  I've seen WRW throw the strongest ball in the lineup on TV, even though he wasn't using it most of the week.  I think that is misleading.

I understand the point about the lefty, but my commitment is to demonstrate the equipment using an approximate "average" bowler.  It could be lefty or righty.  Some others here have rebutted but I fully understand

I am glad you liked the use of Digitrax.  Again, we are not robots so I don't think demonstrating with one is the ideal way to go

I appreciate the feedback so keep it coming!
