Approach Issues
« on: March 24, 2004, 02:24:55 AM »
Hi, today for the first time I taped myself bowling, came home and watched the videos... I am W.R. Williams with 35yrs less Well.. Theres a big problem... When I walk my approach I noticed if I start on the 20 I finish between 24-29... I watched over and over every shot and saw that this horrible movement causes my shots to go to the nose or stay over the 3 and to the pocket too...

Any advice on how to walk straight???

If you stand on 20 and sliding on 25 to 30 that's a huge drift. To make your self walk straighter, line up on 20 again and focus yourself walking stright towards the 4th arrow. Since 20 is lined with the 4th arrow it will be walking in a straight line. Just walk normal like you walk in the street. See if this helps.

Or, if you're consistent, just go with it, and allow for it while making adjustments.
I have a 3 board right drift. I always have. One shot out of 1000 might be 2 or 4 boards. Otherwise, it's always right. I tried to get rid of it, and was just messing myself up. So now I just work with it.

The thing is that I am never consistent... Sometimes more boards, sometimes less... So that changes my shot...

Thanks for your replies
