Clean and Dull Help....
« on: December 20, 2011, 06:20:58 PM »
I just bought my first ever bottle of Clean n Dull but unfortunatley the directions on the bottle are illegible.

Could someone be kind enough to give me a run down on the correct procedure for using it?

Thanks in advance.

Depends whether you're using a spinner or not. If you're cleaning a ball by hand I just wipe it on with a paper towel, using a swirling motion around one half of the ball. Let it sit on the ball for 20-30 seconds, then wipe it off with a microfiber towel dampened with ball cleaner. Then I wipe off the ball cleaner with a dry microfiber towel.

I don't know if this is the right way to do it, but it leaves my ball super tacky. I was able to actually palm my pink panther after cleaning it this way one day.

The original instructions on the Track Clean and Dull bottle indicate  the use of water for clean-up.I follow those. Otherwise,it is very  similar to what tywithay suggested.
I use a rubber glove, as i feel this is a strong chemical.
I put some on the ball, rub it in in circles over the top half of the ball sitting on the ball cup of the spinner.
(You really don't need a lot, as it comes inthe form of a gel which sit on the ball nicely. Maybe 2 qurter sized dollops is almost too much for each half.)
I keep on wiping it on, keeping the surface wet with C&D, for about a minute.
Then I wipe it off with a wet paper towel. Then I wipe off the water with a dry paper towel.
Repeat on the bottom half, after turning the ball over 180 degrees.

Just an FYI on the original Track C&D bottle the HMIS label is 2-health, 0-flammability, 0-reactivity and B-personal protection.  2 on health = Temporary or minor injury may occur.  B on personal protection means use safety glasses and gloves.  So, as Jeff states use caution when using this product I have no issue using it with proper information.

 Very important to do this...

i use it on a spinner but i use the same steps when i do it by hand. basically just like any other cleaner apply desired amount to hte ball and rub it in so i doesnt splatter everywhere. turn on the spinner and apply pressure until most of the cleaner is gone then take a paper towel or dry towel and rub off the excess
