Does anyone else have a whiz/ vent/ air hole?
« on: August 13, 2004, 07:09:05 PM »
no, no, no, not whats down below, but under the thumb hole. Its a small hole, very small, that is on a steep angle into the thumb hole to allow for air to enter in the thumb hole, after your thumb is in it.

I know, that I have a whiz hole in all the balls I have ever used and owned.

how about you?

what, so no one else uses a whiz hole? it really helps with getting your thumb to clear the hole if its a snug fit.

actually, this is called a vent hole. i have never had it done to any of my balls but have seen it on others, never have the problem with air pressure, more times with pitch.

vent, eh? hmmmmmmmmm I still beleive that the principles behind it, are in line. (without a vent hole, you are creating a vaccum in the thumb hole and thus are adding a deterant to the thumb exiting the ball.)

I have one drilled into all but one of my balls... my danger zone doesn't have one, due to the thumb hole being huge, and me needing grip tapes in it.

No, just the OPPOSITE.  Vent would let air IN, thus no vacuum COULD form.  Thumb would THEN come OUT easier.

No, but I did spend the night in ...  Oh, wait, I mean, I use Magic Carpets and because of the construction of the Carpets, they let air in like a vent hole would so you can have a tighter thumbhole and the thumb will still clear without that popping sound from a vacuum.
