Lofting
« on: February 04, 2010, 11:45:51 PM »
I have a friend who targets the dot's on the lanes. He told me last night when he did it the ball struggled to get to the pocket. He told me during the later he lofted the ball to the arrow's and the ball went flush into the pocket. Was it because he lofted the ball to the arrow's that he eliminated coming in contact with the additional oil at the dot's ? I'm not sure of his speed or rev rate. Is there any logic to it at all? Thanks for positive input. Carlos

laying the ball down early or spotting early (say the dots), will get the ball to roll sooner.. especially if the ball being used is stronger in cover or grit/sanded.. it sounds to me like the ball was rolling out before it got to the pocket.. when you friend lofted the heads(to the arrows) he took that whole section he tossed over out of play.. the ball never gets the chance to read that part of the lane he tossed over, so it will save more energy and have more strength in the backend to recover..
