PAP Discrepancy/flare vs no flare ball

Big difference between my first shot flaring ball versus my polyester spare.  Flare ball is 4 1/2 X 1/2.  Polyester 5 1/8 X 1 1/8.  Does this sound right?  I've read the debates on here from time to time but there never seems to be a definite answer.  What PAP measurement should I use to lay out my next ball?

How many low flaring balls are you going to use? I would also suggest making sure that the tape is on your PAP off your hand, not merely going off the flare rings.

I'm not disputing that, I am merely saying the only true coordinate is a piece of tape off your hand, at your release, to find your release PAP....that to me is the only true PAP.

i measure mine with my lowest flaring ball (freeze with flare reducing x-hole)

Wouldn't That be in the link I posted? It shows the PAP at release.
