Two Time Winners
« on: May 27, 2004, 08:26:08 PM »
Well, our men’s league finally ended last night and it was payout time. Each point won was $12.35. Not bad for a ten team league. After the payoff my team bowled for the league championship. We won but it wasn’t with my help. I was actually the low man on the team for a change.

This is a special win because it is our first league title and we bowled against the old team I was on a few years ago.

So this was a good year for our sponsor. Not only did we win the men’s league we also won the mixed doubles league. Guess next year we will have a huge bulls-eye on our back.

Berreez, congratulations on winning your league championship. Hopefully you can continue your success into next season. It's nice to win your league and next season everyone will be gunning for you. We just rolled off for our league championship a few weeks ago and lost a 3 out of 5 in four games. The worst part of it is, we lost to a team that was all kids. I bowl with a friend whose oldest son bowls with us. His second oldest boy is who we bowled against with his friends and it was fun. we all know each other fairly well so it wasn't real tense but both teams really wanted to win. They bowled very well and deserved to win. Since the inception of our Friday Nite league in 1997, we have been in the league championship 5 times and have won it all only once. It seems we are destined to be bridesmaids but never a bride again. We knocked off the team that has won the league 5 out of the first 6 seasons for the second half roll-off but we just couldn't get it done. We will have some motivation for next season and hopefully we can win it all.

It's hard getting to the top but even harder to stay there.  Good Luck next season.
