Bowling Magazines - BTM vs BJ
« on: January 15, 2006, 01:54:43 AM »
Interested in plus and minus thoughts about Bowling This Month and Bowler's Journal. Also, if you don't subscribe to either, interested in those ideas too.
Thinking seriously about the Bowling This Month magazine.  Our pro shop has the Bowler's Journal, but kind of a pain to read in the pro shop or checkout and return each month (then no future reference copy).

Sorry, if this has been covered before, on this site BR doesn't search the history past 30 days (on this site).

I subscribe to both.

BTM is an excellent magazine, geared more toward the bowler.  Excellent educational articles that should help you to improve your game.

BJ is also a very good magazine, but is geared more toward a bowling proprieter (ads for pinsetters, scorer, etc).

I receive both and I prefer BTM.

BTW, you can do a search further back than 30 days:

I subscribe to both and echo kdameyer's overview of both publications. I think Bowlers Journal gives more of a total overview of the bowling industry, lots of international and pro bowling coverage. Their ball reviews are good but not as informative and detailed as Bowling This Month. I believe Bowling This Month gives the best coaching tools that any printed bowling magazine can offer- and their ball reviews section is very helpful especially for the different types of bowlers there are in the world.

If given the choice for one magazine, BTM would be it.
