Another Center Closes/ But One Stays Open

A generations-old bowling center in the Sacramento suburb of Carmichael has not been spared from the grips of the economy.

(Carmichael, CA)

The Crestview Lanes bowling center — a landmark in Carmichael for decades — will close in August, leaving a great deal of uncertainy about the building and two-dozen acres of the high-profile property.  The Holesapple family said the economy along with fast-rising costs for maintenance and utilities are the primary reasons they will close the 32-lane bowling center.

The announcement took many longtime bowlers at Crestview by surprise, along with some commercial brokers who have attempted for decades to put together deals for the property for their clients.  Several well-known retailers, including home-improvement chain Lowes, have looked at the property in recent years.  But the family did not want to develop a shopping center that would compete with their 180,000-square-foot Crestview center anchored by Save Mart — at least until now.

They spent like 6 million dollars on renovations, they will never get it back. This place will go under soon. It belongs in Vegas or L.A. My company would like to buy Burnt Hill lanes to steal bowlers from Saratoga.

Burnt Hills Lanes wouldn''t be my first choice.
I''d think Scotia Lanes AKA Rolling Greens would be a bigger money maker.
Maybe Redwood Lanes?
Burnt Hills will go under before Saratoga Strike Zone.

At least the rich kids in Saratoga will pay $25/hour.

Burnt hills is for sale and cheap. I Think the bank owns it now. They only grossed about $200,000 last year. They have no business, lanes are shot machines beat, needs alot of work but has potential. If you could get it for $250,000 might be worth a shot.
