Guys at Holiday bowl are decent just make sure they weigh them out before  drilling as I have heard some stories about having to place Craters for weightholes to make balls legal.

do u kno anywhere around this area thats good? i live like a hour or 2 away from there anyways.. im in cumberland md but im willing to drive like a hour or so if it means getting me a ball that will move.. i mean that bite i throw it straight over the second arrow and it hits the pocket but i cant seem to get the dang 10 pin down.. i shot 2 games in a row all strikes and 9's and i left all 10 pins.. i even tried moving to hit high to hopefully leave the 4 pin bc my back hurt and was having trouble throwin it at the 10.. i hit high and still left the 10.. got very frustrated

Maybe change the surface a little bit?  A little shine for some more back end?  The ball is too dull for the lack of oil??  The shop guy can't help you if you don't ask him, how do you know he can't help??

I'm with Mike, I say give the guy a fair shot at helping you out, there could be any number of reasons for the lack of reaction (including a faulty coverstock which would be a warranty issue that he can sort out).

If he has screwed up and he's any kind of professional, then he should be willing to fix his mistake, either way you win.

Sir,  that is a really a very common problem today.  Some bowlers buy a ball in the morning or early afternoon, and then go right to the lanes and bowl.  Not realizing that the lanes at that time might be too dry for such a strong ball.

Like Mike says,  you may need a cover adjustment.  In this case, some polish.
But you should go back to your pro shop and tell him what the problem is.
The box finish on any ball will not match all lane conditions.

good luck

Is this your first high performance ball?  If so, how are you delivering the shot as this makes a major difference in ball reaction.  If not, does your older equipment react well?

If your old stuff performed well using your current delivery, there may be something amiss with the ball or the drilling.  If this is your first high performance ball, you may not be fully aware of the techniques used to create the proper ball reaction, or the lane conditions necessary to facilitate that reaction.

i use to have a scout reactive. and i use to get a lot of movement but thats when i threw the ball like 16mph.. i stopped bowling for a while and now i throw it around 18 and the scout wouldnt move.. i can throw my spare ball exactly where i throw my bite and hit the pocket with it with the same speed. i dunno thats y im trying to learn everything ill have a talk with this guy bc when he drilled it and i tested the ball and it barely hooked he pretty much said its bc i throw the ball too fast and that im better off throwing the ball straighter.. ill talk to him and c if hell try drilling it up a lil different.. i have a real high oil track its right beside my middle finger..

Before you redrill it, have your driller sand it to 500 Abralon and try that.  --  JohnP
