Bowling Style
« on: October 04, 2003, 12:07:16 AM »
I have a problem when I throw the ball.I always tend to lean way to the right when I deliver the ball(right handed.)It is hard for me to hit the pocket because since I am always leaning,I can never release the ball the same way.
I thought it was because I was rushing, but when I slowed down,I tripped and it never really helped.lol.Any suggestions?

You're not going to like this reply but check at your local bowling center and see if there is a coach available.  At least they will be able to watch you and analyse your game, whereas that will be a bit difficult to do on this forum.  The reason I say that is because there could be multiple reasons for your problem, such as, is the ball too heavy for you?  Are you dropping your right shoulder too much?  Is it a timing issue with your armswing?  Are you getting the proper slide for your style?  Etc.

If there isnt a coach available, see if one of the more knowledgeable (not always the highest average) bowlers can watch and help you.

I agree with MI 2 AZ. Get a coach.

Could be your delivery is ahead of your sliding foot. Ball too far from your ankle, ball fit, incorrect armswing and a whole host of other things.

One way of finding out is to practice a one step delivery.
