What's a good long, med/light oil ball?
« on: May 03, 2005, 11:05:49 AM »
I need help picking out a new ball.  Right now I throw a AMF Triumph, a Storm XXXtreme, and an Ebonite Matrix Dynasty.  The Triumph and XXXtreme I have trouble throwing in anything but flooded conditions and the problem I run into is that my house is usually on the drier side.  The Matrix Dynasty is a good dry ball for me, but it's developed a crack so I'm afraid to throw it a lot.  I'm not sure how the Dynasty is drilled; as for the Triumph and the XXXtreme, I asked the driller to make it hook like there's no tomorrow...and it does.  Anyways, I'm looking at picking up something that goes a little longer on drier conditions so I can throw a little bit more of an outside line.  Anyone got any ideas?  Thanks.

Any of the Sonic series from Roto Grip!!  Best light to medium-light oil balls around!!

biggest backend: Ultra Sonic, ...a little sooner and not quite as big (but close) the Super Sonic...and the snappiest is the Sonic Boom, not too much midlane and saves it all for the back......

I recommend the Storm Eraser Banshee.  Its made to go longer and still drives to the pocket.  I bowl on a med/light owl shot and play inside, and this ball does exactly what its supposed to do.  An added plus is thats its a mid-priced ball, i got mine for $95 in December.

BVP Punisher
Power Groove Teal/Purple or new Orange/Teal
Eraser Banshee
Ebonite Ice
Barrage

Depending on your game (speed, revs, tilt, PAP etc) your driller would be able to get one of these balls to match up the conditions you are facing.
