Moving to AZ
« on: October 28, 2008, 04:51:06 AM »
I am moving to the Mesa area, and am wondering what bowling centers are in the area, or even a little drive away.  Once I get established I'll be looking to join a league or two, and I want to know what the best leagues and the best houses are.  I am especially interested in scratch leagues, if there are any.

Anyone from the area on here who can help me out?

Here's the league i used to bowl in when I could afford it  http://www.leaguesecretary.com/LeagueFiles.aspx?LID=6500&DT=10272008104119PM
It's in Chandler, not to far away from Mesa.

Another competitive league but is handicap is http://lss.bowl.com/templates/BowlDotCom/common/standings/standings.html?league=10845&page=1

There are around 5 bowling alleys in Mesa.  Probably around 20 in the Phoenix area.
Here's a link to a traveling scratch tournament http://azbowling.com/results.php?event=3&eventcenter=

Thanks for the response.  Also forgot to ask, what are the best proshops in the area?

Not sure on the proshops.  They have one in Brunswick Mesa.  They also have a Bowling dynamics proshop in Chandler (Kyrene brunswick lanes)
My friend drills my bowling balls.  I have used Bowling Dynamics a few times, they do a good job.

If you even get out to the westside or northside of town you can lookup

Kaylin,
Does Jeromy know you are moving? What about bowling State this year? Are you getting a new store?

Good luck with your move.

I lived the last 10 years in Phoenix. There are some very good scratch PBAx summer leagues and a "travelling" scratch draft fall/winter league. I don't believe there are any other scratch leagues anywhere in the valley for fall/winter.

A good place to ask about pro shops and scratch leagues would be the forums on www.azbowling.com - it's a scratch tournament organization. Just be a little thick-skinned while posting there. Several of my friends own/work at pro shops in Phoenix, but they'll be a long drive from Mesa. I'm not sure where the Simonis brothers relocated when they closed down Mesa CC lanes, but they know what they're doing.

One of the pro shops I mentioned above - but those are both a long haul from Mesa.
