My guess is since June/July is a combined issue, you will get that issue. I wouldn't expect the August issue until the 20th or so of that month, they usually don't start sending them out until the 15th of each month.

If I remember correctly from an earlier topic on BTM's delivery problems,
they were going to combine the June and July issues and then switch to
a new mailing system in which you would get each month's issue at the
beginning of that month. So the August issue would be mailed out sometime
in the last half of July and you would get it at the beginning of
August rather than at the end.

is that the reason i have not received my june issue yet?  i would receive the june/july issue sometime in the middle of july, the august issue in the middle of august, and so forth.  that sound right?  doesn't that mean however, that we will be shortchanged one issue for 2006?

You should have received the June/July issue by now. Call the office at 800-282-7043. As we explained in the issue, we added 1 month to everyone's subscription so no one would be shortchanged.

Jim,

I think you need to coordinate with the people/person who answers the phone at BTM. Based on your post above, I called BTM, because I hadn't received my June issue in today's mail (6/30). She wouldn't take my name; she insisted I call back next week because that's when they start sending out replacement issues.

Why couldn't she just take my name when I called? It would save me the grief of trying to make another call and having to remember to make the call. It would save BTM the cost of another 800 phone call. It would save her the time of having to talk to me again.

The modern money and time wasting corporation?
or
is this the new corporate employee trying to get out of doing any work at all?

Oh, by the way, since this BTM delivery problem started being discussed 6 or so months ago, I have been defending you and BTM in almost every post. But even I am getting frustrated.

Haven't received mine here in NJ yet, either.

All they are doing is calling the June issue, June/July. The issue that will ship around 7/20 that would have been called the July issue will instead be called the August issue.

i got the same response as charlest.  i guess i will be calling on monday if it doesn't show up in saturday's mail.  it was not in friday's mail either.  after receiving the april and may issues on the 24th, i thought the issues were resolved.  i don't know what to think now.  i subscribe to other magazines and have never had these kinds of delivery problems.

You are right. I didn't coordinate with the office before posting on here that you should call the office. It's my fault for the miscommunication. Hopefully, you will get your copy in the interim and won't have to call them again. Everyone will get the same number of issues they paid for. We did the double issue to move us up, so we would be consistent with the rest of the printing industry. You will get your magazines just before the start of the month or in the first half of the  month, instead of at the end of the month or into the next month. We have been looking for an easy way to do this since I have been at BTM. We finally decided there is no easy way, so we did it and tried to make it as painless as possible. The bonus to you is a great 80 page issue for June/July. If you read this issue and are not satisfied, call us up and we will refund the rest of your subscription. We don't want any disgruntled customers, if there is any way we can help it. Yes, we have asked you to help us with the delivery problem by contacting your local post office or filling out a complaint form online at their website. We are not doing this to dodge the blame, we really need your help, because our efforts have been futile. Short of raising the subscription rate enough to pay for 1st class postage for everyone, we don't have any other alternatives.

actually i think it is pretty cool that the editor of a magazine would take the time to respond in this manner.  i have always and will enjoy the magazine and its content.  i will wait patiently for each issue.  must be this forum environment, just like some president's of ball companies answering questions in the ball forums.

I received the June/July issue in yesterday's mail as well (7/5)- another amazing issue Jim, one of the best since I've been a subscriber. Hope the mail troubles will be a thing of the past starting with the August issue.
