Bowling getting respect??!!

Sportscenter, comparing pdw (or the reaction of) to barry bonds, larry bird, and deion. Showing the match play part w/voss picking up the 7-10. Also showing more of the show than just one shot in the 10th of the title match (showed a piece on the "other" fin) nice to see a desent cut on bowling.

Agreed Great One,

It was good to see ESPN show some bowling highlights other then when someone shoots 300.  Only one small problem again, they showed PDW throwing the plastic thru the nose(I know, that's the winning shot) and they showed Voss with the 7-10.  These 2 shots now show the recreational bowling public (and may lead them to believe) that thru the nose is okay and pros pick up 7-10 all the time.  Too extreme, you know?  Not earnest enough for me...or am I asking for or expecting too much?  It's bad enough how we're depicted to the public because of Hollywood and now these 2 shots don't give us half the credit so many deserve in the sport.  Just my opinion...

I don't know, if I see a Sammy Sosa hit a home run over the ivy at Wrigley, I don't think I can do it even though I'm a pretty good baseball player.  If I see Venus Williams hit a power volley right up the line, I'm not going to think it is easy to do even though I'm a pretty good tennis player.  So why would I think a 7-10 split is any easier to pick up because a pro bolwer was able to do it?  As for the through the nose strike... we've all seen people get on a lucky streak with that mush to our own aggravation.

Damn, I wanted to watch Sportscenter so bad last night to see if they showed results of it. But I had to go to work. Anyways, I remember they showed a pretty good result spot on it for the ABC Masters, so I was wondering if they would put the US Open. Now that is some change and I think is great for bowling. Now if only they can show results for all shows, majors and regular tourneys.
