Bowling Website Needs Help!!
« on: August 27, 2008, 11:00:21 AM »
Hi guys, I own www.tipsforbowling.net which is a site that has tips for bowling and need some help, what type of tips can I really put on it!?  I mean I want to be able to help beginners but am finding it really hard to think of how I can do this virtually, I  mean each person bowls so differently what kind of general tips are there besides buy a good ball and practice a lot, etc.  I know that you guys are all very experienced bowlers, so what topics can I give people besides ball control, getting in the pocket, etc.

Any help is really appreciated guys,

Thanks a LOT!!

-Peter

tux, just checked it out.  looks pretty good!  The one thing I'd include in any "tips" site is a terminology section.  Every beginning bowler should know what a "Jersey" or "Brooklyn" is, or that he/she came in "high and flat" and left the "bucket".

Overall, the site is nice.  Easy to navigate, decent reference materials, and links to the more popular online retailers.

I might revise the section on bowling ball review ...
At this point, polyurethane balls are a niche market. Reactive resin has become the dominant coverstock used in today's performance ball.
Particle balls are also on the decline.
You should make mention of pearlized coverstocks, and the hybrid particle pearl offerings available.

Also, you might add a section talking about the lane, how to count boards, what the arrows represent, the difference in wood vs. guardian overlay vs. full synthetic lanes, etc.
