Your best bet on the PS2 is to get one of the old Brunswick Pro Circuit Bowling games for the PS1.  I've got the first one and it's pretty good.  Graphics are obviously PS1-era, but otherwise it's a good game.

This topics been around a few times. Actually, I believe some emailed EA games, but the response was something like "there is not enough interest in the game and we do not take ideas from people" or you know, something to that tune. Either way, theres just not enough sales of a game like this as compared to a football or baseball game, so they never took the time to make any half decent games.

There is actually one called Strike Force Bowling. It is
cheap and is quite fun.

Theres one supposed to be out now but I cant find it anywhere at the moment.
Its called International Bowling by PLAY-IT.
Dont know how good it will be or even if it will be out in the USA but I have found it on Amazon.co.uk but not on the US version. They do not have it in stock yet though.
May be worth a look if it ever comes out.
