Bowling with a padded workout/weight glove
« on: October 23, 2017, 07:29:41 AM »
Due to some issue with my hand lately (lower part of my palm) , I am thinking about using my workout/weight glove tonight for league. I figured with the padding on it may help my hand and thumb. Has anyone else ever tried using a glove like that for bowling?

The padding, depending on it's thickness, could easily change your span, thus affecting your ability to get the thumb out cleanly.
The glove going over your thumb will also change the size of your thumb, making it a difficult fit, but I suppose if your ball fits poorly enough already it may work.

The above mentioned things are two major components of fit so it's probably not a great idea.  On the other hand, Pete Weber has used a "modified" golf glove...

As long as the padding isn't too thick and theres nothing covering your thumb it should work.

Just a FYI they make a glove with interchangeable palm pads

Here is what i use but I just cut off the thumb.  Super comfortable and doesn't interfere with my release.

Kind of noob when made this account so take advice with grain of salt.

That did cross my mind this morning  I plan on cutting the thumb area to give me more room in the hole before this evening.

I saw that glove about two weeks ago. Nice concept but curious with how well the pads stay on.
