My girlfriend is left handed and I have been working with her on her game. I explain things but when I show her I am throwing it right handed so it doesn't help her all that much. I'm not very good or accurate throwing it with my left, but I wanted to show her how to hook it. Long story but one week when we go practice, she has a nice little hook to the pocket. Next time it's no hook but angled to the pocket, then next time she spins it like a top, with no hook. When we first started bowling it was a real nice hook. That's the hook I want to see from her all the time. She finds that nice hook once in a while and I ask her if she knows what she is doing or how she is throwing it. She says yes, but next time we bowl, it's straight or spinning like a top.
So, I threw my ball (resurgence) that is drilled right handed, with my left hand. It had a nice hook, as if it was drilled for my left hand. I struck on my first three throws.
I guess my question on this is, why did it continue to hook and drive through the 1-2 pocket so well if the weight block, axis...drilling was set up for a right hander? I mean it hooked and drove through the pocket like it was drilled left-handed. I expect it would lose drive and straighten out. This also leads me to another question, does drilling even matter?
